grey spring day

i have a lot of catching up to do on this blog! my 365 project has taken over my photo endeavors, so i’m never much in the mood for compiling all my extra shots into blog posts. believe me, there are plenty! these are from a week or so ago (i guess i’ve lost concept of time, too) when i visited a nearby state park on a cool and cloudy spring day. the air smelt of honeysuckle (i think?) and the grass was covered in dandelions. the sand at the lake “beach” was very strange, though. i found it to be so mushy and quick-sand-like that i couldn’t even get close to the water without the fear of completely getting my feet covered in wet sand. i don’t think i’ve ever encountered that before. i suppose lake sand is made of quite different stuff here in the Midwest than it is back East.
