…….

these photos are from two different mornings, on two days back-to-back. the first was cold and brisk, where the sun came out only briefly and i rushed outside to capture the moment. the second was a sleepy weekend morning after a night of fresh, wet snow. the sun came out mid-morning and melted everything away. i love how the snow lasts just a little bit longer out here than it does in town where everything is much more open and, generally, warmer. when the wind blows, snow falls off the tops of the white pines and rains down through the forest, but closer to the ground where i get to walk the snow lingers much longer in the shade.

i also went snowshoeing for the first time over the weekend and loved it! i borrowed someone’s snowshoes for the occasion  but now i’m convinced i need to get some of my own. maybe by next season…

it seems like so many folks are itching for spring, but i’m that one crazy gal that’s happy to keep stoking my wood-stove and slipping on icy paths.

  1. Your photography is gorgeous. i have found myself lost in your archives. I came back to write how much i enjoyed stumbling across your blog xx

  2. i have to agree with the commenter above. with joy! your photographs help transport one to a dream place/ situation. at least, that is the case with me. you would think that there are many photographers out there taking nature and landscape pictures but only very few do it with the quiet poetism that i so value.

  3. thank you both so much! your comments are so incredibly nice to hear, you have no idea. i’m so glad you’ve enjoyed what i have to share. :)
