……………………………

above are a few photos of some late august adventures i’ve been having. we went to a music festival in the mountains of Vermont and enjoyed camping, making bacon and eggs for breakfast, chillin’ to the sounds of good music, tubing down the river, eating the best fried dough i’ve EVER had and people watching, of course! there were a lot of kids at this surprisingly family friendly festival, but they were hippie/rock-loving kids, so for the post part we did not mind so much (hanging out at the campfire was a little risky, however: unsupervised kids with flaming sticks! come on, people!). after the
Vermont festivities a college friend of mine came to visit and i took her on an epic hike in the White Mountains. by epic i mean literally the most challenging trail i’ve ever tackled (did i forget this somehow when planning this treck?), and it was still so my second time around (i hiked this trail two years ago with a group of six high schoolers!). my friend couldn’t even look at the views because she was so stunned from the cliff-face that we pretty much crawled up with heavy packs on our backs. i however, couldn’t soak it in enough. the next day’s descent down Valley Way, however, left my thighs and knees begging me for mercy for a couple days. our mountains aren’t terribly big here in the Northeast, but believe me our trails are badass and will rip you apart! rock staircases for days!
