last week we saw many inches of fluffy, light snow fall over the course of two storms. a day or so after the snow fell i went for a short walk in the afternoon. a lot of the snow had already fallen from boughs and branches, but more would still shower down when the wind came along. i had to stay on the snowmobile trail because the snow was so deep and i don’t have snowshoes. it would be crazy to go through another winter without snowshoes, but i just can’t afford them right now. i hope i can find a way to get some soon!
in the mean time it’s been a rainy weekend and the rain is going to continue through tomorrow. we could get some ice accumulation which would be both beautiful and nerve-wracking. we have so many white pines right over our cabin and i’m always afraid when strong winds or ice or heavy snow comes along.
i’m almost ready for chirstmas. i just have a couple more gifts to buy and wrap (and make). my brother and his family are down from maine to visit and it’s fun seeing my little nieces’ excitement. my parents and the girls came over to the cabin today to see our decorations and walk in the woods. i’ll get to posting photos soon i hope.
