……………….

every morning during the spring is different. last week the beech leaves were just barely emerging. this morning they were out en masse. song birds are migrating back to New England and each day brings a new wave of familiar and unfamiliar melodies in the forest and wetland by our cabin.

solstice had his first encounter with a porcupine yesterday. it ended in mouthful of quills and an expensive trip to the vet. my wildlife awareness shot up by 9,000 and i was vigilant on this morning’s walk to keep solstice close to the trail and leashed through the section that i’ll now think of as porcupine alley.

after the porcupine incident and a series of other mishaps yesterday, here’s hoping Friday goes a little smoother.

  1. Thank you for sharing some more lovely photos. They are very relaxing and peaceful, even though it sounds like the last few days haven’t been for you!

    • Thanks, I’m so glad you like them! :) Lol, yep, it’s been a crazy week but these photos help me focus on what’s important, too. It’s easy to get bogged down in what goes wrong sometimes!
