……………….

there is always light to find in a forest, but it’s this time of year that we notice how it wanes. an evening walk ends in a chase to catch the last beam of light before it settles below treeline. dusk comes quicker and faster, but thankfully brings cooler air and amazingly, no swarms of mosquitoes. after a hot and humid week we finally got a taste of autumn. the temperatures are crisp and refreshing and warranted the first scarf of the season.

for the next two weeks i’ll be on a Maine adventure and i can’t wait! there will be lots of camping, canoeing, hiking, sunsets, visits with friends and family, and a fair. we are heading way up north and i’m hoping for some more cool weather and maybe even foliage! :)
